What the rules mean in practice
- There are 2 phases. Phase 1 needs $2,500 profit (10%); Phase 2 needs $1,250 profit (5%). The loss limits apply in every phase.
- On any single day you can lose up to $1,250 (5%). Check FTMO's rules for whether that is measured from the day's starting balance or equity, because open trades count.
- The account fails if you lose $2,500 (10%). This is static drawdown: the loss limit is fixed at a set distance below your starting balance and never moves.
- At the starting 80% split, you need about 1.4% return on the funded $25K account to earn back the €250 fee, before any other charges.
- Payouts: first reward can be requested from the 14th day after the first trade on the FTMO Account.
- FTMO states every fee in EUR. Sizes here are the USD account balances; the same fee buys the matching tier in other account currencies (EUR €10K, €20K, €40K, €80K and €160K; GBP £10K, £20K, £35K, £70K and £140K).
- Daily loss limit is the balance at midnight CE(S)T minus 5% of the initial balance; maximum loss means equity may never drop below 90% of the initial balance.
- Profit target: 10% in the Challenge phase and 5% in the Verification phase. All positions must be closed before a phase is evaluated.
- The fee is refunded with the first reward on the FTMO Account.
- Reward split starts at 80% and rises to 90% under the Scaling Plan or Premium Programme.
- News-release and weekend-holding restrictions apply only on the funded FTMO Account, not during the Challenge or Verification.
